Vivedia have begun live streaming of cremations at Breakspear Crematorium in Ruislip. This service, provided in conjunction with Kimeera, offers mourners unable to attend the service in person, the opportunity to watch live over the internet, with high-quality video and audio feeds from four cameras located in each of the two Breakspear chapels.

Vivedia have developed a system paying great consideration to the importance of the service to those not able to attend. The system uses high-quality capture cameras, far superior to webcams, to record and broadcast the video streams to our streaming broadcast platform. Mourners are then able to log into the Online Service on the Breakspear Crematorium web site to access the streams. Mourners can choose their own camera angles, allowing them to watch the procession of the coffin. The whole service is captured, including music and speeches from the lectern.

Key to the quality of the streams is Vivedia’s streaming broadcast platform, allowing an unlimited number of mourners to connect and view online. This system provides a far superior viewing quality to webcams, the quality of which are degraded as the number of simultaneous viewers increases.
